All Public Service Commission hearings and meetings are open to the public and can be attended in person at our hearing room – Room 110, 244 Washington Street, Atlanta, GA 30334. Commission hearings and meetings also can be viewed live via the Commission’s YouTube channel.
Public Comments are heard during the first hour of each hearing day and the last 15 minutes of Committee Meetings. Sign-up sheets are provided and speakers are called first come, first served. Relevant comments and feedback on any issue also can be provided through our electronic portal.
All public comments must conform to these guidelines.
Electric, gas and telephone utilities serve millions of customers in Georgia, but there are many customers who can't afford gas, electricity or basic phone service without the help of payment assistance programs. Many electric, gas, and telephone utility companies offer payment plans to their customers who qualify. They may allow deferred payment for those who cannot pay their whole bill or delay disconnection for customers trying to pay their bills. Many civic groups, charitable organizations, and churches in local communities provide payment assistance to low income customers. The spread of COVID-19 taught Georgia and the United States to use innovative ways of keeping our workforces and workplaces healthy. To assist in that effort the Georgia Public Service Commission utilized Alternative Electronic Filing Procedures. As the state and country move toward post-COVID life, the PSC will continue to utilize the procedures outlined below for the convenience of everyone who utilizes our services.

The mission of the Georgia Public Service Commission is to exercise its authority and influence to ensure that consumers receive safe, reliable and reasonably priced telecommunications, electric and natural gas services from financially viable and technically competent companies.
Feb. 7, 2025 – (ATLANTA) The Georgia Public Service Commission received Georgia Power’s filing for the utility’s 2025 Integrated Resource Plan on Jan. 31.
The process to approve the plan will include three public hearings: March 25-28, May 27-30 and a rebuttal hearing on June 23-25. The first hour of each day’s hearing will be reserved for public comment. Members of the public can also send comments via mail, email or via the PSC’s electronic portal, available on the homepage of the PSC’s website www.psc.ga.gov.
The IRP is filed every three years to set Geogia Power energy production. Although the plan is updated every three years, the plan is a 20-year outlook of energy production amounts and methods.
“My fellow Commissioners and I make every effort to hear from Georgian’s during the IRP process,” said PSC Chairman Jason Shaw. “As we weigh evidence presented to us by expert witnesses, engineers and energy analysts, we also read all comments sent by the public and listen to every public witness who takes the time to speak at the hearings. It is a vitally important part of the IRP process.”
